(Tintin House) lies (within the St Just Mining District, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site) (renowned for its industrial heritage and mineralogy)

(The land consists of granite with a narrow strip of thermally metamorphosed killas and greenstone along parts of the western seaboard) 

(The brief was) to (extend the scope of the existing mine experience tour) (while also supporting the renewal) of (the strong local community) (The design responds to the scale of the historic underground workings, which reach depths of almost 750 metres and extend about 1.5 kilometres beneath the sea, by adding a new shaft at their joint point) (The shaft brings visitors back to the shoreline at the land’s end, where they meet the horizon)
